Well as an Owner of Cash For Cars Long Island 631-226-2277, my first thoughts when viewing the first episode of “The Profit”, with Marcus Lemonis, was that I was going to absolutely see fault in any so-called entrepreneur’s attempt to step into what is a business of market trends, and knowledge of both vehicles and people. My first thought was, look at this jerk, I myself have been in the Auto Re-marketing, purchasing cars daily from consumers, dealers and auctions Nationally for 20+ years, and to think a white collared, preppy, full of himself jerk could possibly add to this CarCash business.

But!!!, I have to admit, that  Marcus Lemonis and his team, really impressed me! (Not An Easy Task), with the speed they assessed &  found all the (red alert) faults and corrected a lot that was wrong with this business, rather quickly, aggressively went to work, righting the wrongs, and started selling licensees which is the correct expansion for this type of business. In fact,”I think I might even be a little jealous”, that they didn’t find our operation at Cash For Cars Long Island 631-226-2277.

The Auto Wholesalers

First and foremost, I have knowledge that this business primarily, did have Auto Wholesalers at the premises that were like in-house guys, who would immediately repurchase all of the CarCash vehicles as they were purchased, If not even writing the check themselves, As this is a business of large outlay for minimal return, you have to be able to extract as much profit out of each vehicle, and the smartest decision was to eliminate the Auto Wholesalers. My thought was, are these guys even aware that there are National Auto Auctions located in every state, where legitimate Car Dealers go to purchase inventory, multiple times per week. I mean, it’s the premise on how my business operates weekly. In most cases the vehicles usually bring more money in, as the High Bid most times is a couple of hundred, more than my own, Auto Wholesalers and Retail Dealers are willing to pay us for vehicles we purchase and are seeking to sell.

 The Renovation

As far as the renovation of CarCash, Unfortunately, not all businesses can afford to put 350k, out of their pocket in one shot, but hey these CarCash guys, must have got the Golden Ring, when  Marcus Lemonis, stumbled upon them.  But with a little paint, elbow grease and soap, Independent businesses can alter their facility, to be at least, clean presentable and respectable for their consumers, and I suggest they do that if  need be.

As far as the color scheme, the white, blue and yellow, seemed to have worked for them, Myself I like a 2 color scheme, as you can see by our logo:

The Marketing Segment

Radio advertising, blah,blah – Although the commercial did sound great! I myself, have not heard or seen there spot even once, and I am in the same business as CarCash, Cash For Cars Long Island 631-226-2277 and live in the NY Metro Area, So the statement that the marketing budget for CarCash is 40k per month, I think was overly inflated for entertainment purposes.  But with that being said, all small businesses in my opinion should aim all of there marketing efforts on the internet. SEO, PPC and building the strength of your web presence is essential for success, With a little research CarCash, although has some web presence, it is not nearly enough to penetrate their market, and before you can ever endeavor into Radio/T.V. advertising, a stronghold on the internet is essential, in my opinion. The Reselling Of  There First Purchase

Although bringing your inventory, out of state to sell is usually the right decision, not 1 at a time!! This must have been a set-up purchase in my opinion, because the amount the dealer in New Jersey paid is well over market average for that particular model, I think they must have been friends…LOL. In 20 years of business, negotiations between 2 dealers have never been that fast and easy, but hey that’s entertainment.

All in all, it was a great educational show, Well produced and I wish the guys at CarCash and Marcus Lemonis all the best, with all of there endeavors!!
